The quiet hum of car tires along the driveway to Carlowrie Castle’s grand entrance, the soft patter of rain on umbrellas, and the hurried footsteps of guests making their way into the historic venue created the perfect soundtrack for the morning of Ruby & Cameron’s wedding. As the distant sound of Highland cowbells echoed from the nearby pasture, the cinematic backdrop of Edinburgh’s countryside, framed by lush gardens and timeless architecture, set the tone for an unforgettable day—and for the beautiful stationery we created.
THE VISION
For Ruby & Cameron’s wedding stationery, our vision was to evoke timeless romance, formality, and a hint of vintage charm. We aimed to capture the captivating beauty of Carlowrie Castle, a historic gem nestled in the Scottish countryside near Edinburgh. The palette of dusty blue, warm wheat, and soft burnished gold was carefully chosen to reflect both the elegance of the venue and the rich history of its surrounding gardens, perfectly setting the stage for a day steeped in romance.
INVITATIONS
Each invitation was letterpress printed, a luxurious, tactile technique that mirrored the character of the historic venue. The details card featured illustrations of Sampaguita flowers, honoring Ruby’s Filipino heritage, while the castle illustration paid tribute to Cameron’s Scottish ancestry, with textured impressions that created a sensation of almost physically touching the castle itself. Crafted from double-ply cotton cardstock and wheat handmade paper, with blue and burnished gold letterpress ink, each invitation set was wrapped in dusty blue silk ribbon and sealed in a cream envelope.
DAY-OF PAPERIE
To bring a playful energy to the celebration, Ruby & Cameron’s day-of paperie embraced lightheartedness and joy. The menu cards featured delicate illustrations and organic linework, evoking a handmade charm that seamlessly carried guests into the evening’s festivities. Each menu was custom-designed with guests’ names for a personal touch. Drink tokens, designed in the same aesthetic, included sketches of Effie & Ramsey, the couple’s beloved pets, who eagerly awaited their return from the UK.
The entire day felt like stepping into a scene from a movie. Raindrops drizzled down the windows of the ceremony space, a vintage cocktail bar transported you back in time, and the dance floor buzzed with laughter and love. It was an afternoon and evening that will forever be remembered with a magical nostalgia.
