+ MENU

There’s nothing more whimsical or luxurious for an ocean-inspired wedding in the Pacific Northwest than oysters and bubbly. Set against the industrial yet ethereal backdrop of Humano Studios in Downtown Seattle, this editorial project is a love letter to the rugged beauty of the coast—where raw textures meet delicate details in perfect harmony.

THE VISION

Inspired by tide pools, where tiny wonders hide in plain sight, this shoot captures the magic of discovery and natural beauty. We embraced raw textures, handmade paper, and florals that feel as if they’ve washed up with the waves. The goal was to evoke a sense of light airiness juxtaposed with the rustic undertones that define the Seattle landscape. Cool tones, reminiscent of the sky and sea, guided our palette, allowing the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest to intertwine with the city’s industrial edge

INVITATIONS

Each invitation suite was meticulously letterpress printed, enhancing the tactile experience of handmade paper. The main invitation features a delicate script paired with a blind-debossed oyster texture, subtly nodding to the endless barnacle formations hidden beneath the Puget Sound. Without ink, the impression alone tells a story of organic beauty and quiet sophistication.

The details card carries this theme forward with an intricate sketch of a pair of oysters, reinforcing the oceanic inspiration while symbolizing love and intimacy.

To bring everything together, we tied each piece with a silk ribbon, seamlessly blending into the cool-toned palette. The suite is enclosed in a luxurious handmade paper envelope, its address letterpress printed in the same refined style as the invitation. Inside, a translucent vellum envelope liner, printed with a watercolor painting of a windswept beach on a cloudy day, softens the colors and creates a layered, subdued effect like layers of tulle in a bride’s veil. As the final touch, a wax seal imprinted with an actual seashell adds an element of organic imperfection—rustic, tactile, and undeniably authentic.

DAY-OF PAPERIE

The menu cards, also letterpress printed on handmade paper, reuse the same oyster illustration from the invitations, creative a cohesive feel and setting the stage for the exquisite seafood menu to come.

For the place cards, we layered translucent vellum over actual oyster shells, fastened with an elegant metal bead—merging personalization with natural elements in a way that feels effortless and refined.

This shoot is a feast for texture lovers. Sunlight filtering through the towering industrial windows, casts a soft glow over ocean-inspired florals, a cake adorned with barnacle-like details, and pearlescent accents shimmering with quiet elegance. Every detail, from the raw edges of handmade paper to the subtle play of light and shadow, pays homage to Seattle’s waterfront culture—where the romance of the sea meets the grit of the city. A true celebration of the Pacific Northwest’s untamed beauty.
