At June Press, we create artisanal paper goods for events, brands, and individuals. Founded by designer, artist, and letterpress enthusiast, Zoe Nelson, we take pride in touching each part of the design and printing process by hand. Our creations range from elaborate event stationery to simple, heartfelt greeting cards—each inspired by a belief in slowing down to celebrate the everyday.
"The invites are luxe and more than what we imagined, and we know that they're going to leave a mark on our guests. We couldn't recommend June Press more to anyone looking for stationery that stands out and brings your vision to life. We look forward to more projects with June Press, and love that we've made a new friend.”
Many of my most cherished childhood memories revolve around my family's unwavering encouragement of creativity. They believed in the value of art, supplied me with materials to create, and made space for my imagination to flourish—and flourish it did.
In 2018, I earned a degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design. Today, my most creative rhythms unfold when blending digital design with the tactile beauty of handmade art created off the screen.
Much of my inspiration is rooted in opportunities I’ve had to study and create art abroad. Museums and architecture in London and Paris left a lasting impact on me, and I’ve gone on to make memories painting the picturesque landscapes of the south of France and Italy. Being surrounded by the same subjects that inspired artists like Monet, van Gogh, and Renoir, and sketching and painting in places steeped in centuries of artistic heritage, has been truly unforgettable. I often draw from these experiences to bring a timeless, heirloom quality into my work.
As a century-old letterpress, June is the secret behind that beautiful, pillowy impression letterpress printing is known for.
In 2023, she was restored to operate with the same grace and precision as she did in her heyday, and joined the studio on the winter solstice that year. Her history runs deep, with some years untraceable. However, much of her life was spent at a university in Chicago where students learned and marveled over the art of letterpress, possibly for over a century.
Using no electricity, June is brought to life by applying custom-mixed ink to the circular disc and muscling a swift tug of the lever to close the platen. Each print is then crafted by hand-feeding our signature fluffy cotton paper into the press, one sheet at a time. The result is a collection of pieces where no two are alike, making the art of letterpress all the more special.
June Press is committed to environmental stewardship and values protecting the planet through sustainable, eco-friendly practices. We work in harmony with nature to create stationery that reminds us where these artworks come from, and where they will someday return. Here are some of our efforts towards a thriving planet:
+ Standard paper stocks are 100% tree-free and lignin-free, made from recycled cotton linters—a byproduct of the textile industry.
+ Handmade papers are made from recycled cotton linters, or from pre-consumer waste (envelope trimmings).
+ All products and purchased packaging are recyclable and often also compostable or reusable. However, reusing materials from already existing packaging is the first choice whenever possible.
